Emerald The Color of the Year

Emerald is the color of the year chosen by Pantone, "Emerald, a vivid verdant green, enhances our sense of well-being further by inspiring insight as well as promoting balance and harmony."

It is the color of renewal. When I was studying, it is a color recommended for city apartments because it is the neutral color in nature, often in cities you look out to buildings, to have green inside is relaxing. It is also the easiest color on your eyes. It is refreshing.

It works well with blues and is the color of May.  Will we see many green interiors this year?

With a color like this I can't help but think of the Emerald City in Oz, when Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Lion and the Tin Man went to the door and the man with the enormous mustache answered which lead them in to meet the wizard. Then there was the Wicked Witch of the West with her green face... a brilliant movie.
