BIID Christmas Party

The Roca London Gallery hosted the BIID, British Institute of Interior Design, Christmas party. The showroom was designed by Zaha Hadid Architects. It is a futuristic, fluid, organic space that curves and meanders like water, the inspiration behind its' undulating walls.

The Roca gallery is more than a showroom for sleek and architectural bathroom experiences, it  is a flexible space for exhibitions, a meeting room, cafĂ© bar, library, multi-media wall, reception and video screens are dispersed so visitors feel they are in an active design centre; a research hub.

It is here we have meetings planning and discussing the Professional Pathway, the steps toward developing professional interior designers at BIID.

The evening was full of meeting many in the design industry, the suppliers and makers who help us make inspiring and beautiful spaces

Jenny Nash from Cooks and Partners who catered the evening with delicious nibbles and Eva Kazmierska the manager of the Roca Gallery

The lovely Tugba Esen and Verity Bell from Connaught Kitchens where they design and supply modern and elegant places to cook.

William Stewart from Kensington Audio Visual, we had a discussion on the best placement for televisons. We both agreed, it should not be over the fireplace.

Celia Naraine from the Shutter Shop, laughing over a glass of wine.

And lots of gossip.

There were many of the BIID members who were there who have been mentors, have given me invaluable advice and help in the years becoming a designer, Tina MacFarlane, Sue Timney, Iris Dunbar, Brian Lawrence and so many more
